A crash between a moped and a car occurred at the intersection of Wilson and Red Cedar Roads on Tuesday at 9:50 a.m, near the Communication Arts and Sciences building.

Capt. Doug Monette of the MSU Police Department said the driver of the moped was transported to the hospital and MSUPD is in the process of investigating the crash.

An MSU student said he witnessed the crash. Social science junior Nick Sarotte said after he left class in the CommArts building, he heard a crash.

"I look up and I see this girl, this car had come and hit her and knocked off her moped. I heard her scream out so I tossed my backpack and just ran over there," Sarotte said.

Sarotte said he called 911 and he and the driver of the car waited with the girl until the police came. The driver was apologizing and police arrived at the scene in a matter of minutes.
