Ongoing construction work for East Lansing's Center City District project will cause a portion of Abbot Road to be closed during the evening hours of May 17, May 21 and May 22.

According to the East Lansing Police Department, or ELPD, Abbot Road between Grand River Avenue and Albert Avenue will be closed to traffic from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. all three evenings.

"These closures will allow construction crews to connect to the sewer main and water main as part of their ongoing infrastructure improvement work," according to an ELPD press release.

Traffic moving southbound on Abbot Road can access Grand River Avenue by following a detour from Abbot Road to Oakhill Avenue to Hillcrest Avenue.
