Clarkston guard and 2018 men's basketball signee Foster Loyer has been named the 2018 Hal Schram Mr. Basketball award winner by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan at the Detroit Free Press newsroom Monday afternoon.

In a 3,691-2,792 point vote, Foster was awarded the title of Mr. Basketball over forward Brandon Johns, an East Lansing Native and University of Michigan commit. In third place with 2,542 points is U-M signee David DeJulius of East English Village Prep.

The four-star recruit, who is coming off a knee injury from last season, averaged 27 points, seven assists, four rebounds and three steals in the regular season. Most recently, Loyer scored 33 points in his game against Oxford on March 11.

This award comes ahead of Clarkston's Class A state quarterfinals game against Flint Carman-Ainsworth in Grand Blanc Tuesday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
