Armed robbery reported on Grove Street near Albert Avenue

The Michigan State University Police Department, or MSUPD, sent out an alert regarding an armed robbery that took place downtown East Lansing Wednesday night. 

According to the alert, the attack occurred on Grove Street near Albert Avenue at about 10:24 p.m.

Since the initial alert, no updates have been made available to the public.

MSUPD Capt. Doug Monette declined to comment and said it is an East Lansing issue.

The East Lansing Police Department could not be reached for comment.

Neither the victim nor the suspect have been identified. The suspect's identity is still in question. In the alert, the suspect is described as a male with a raspy voice. No further descriptions are available at this time. 

The alert stated the suspect allegedly possessed a knife. 

"A knife was indicated in this incident but not seen," the alert stated. "A small amount of cash was taken."

Since the robbery, no other alerts regarding related incidents have been sent out to MSU students and other subscribers to MSUPD's alert system. 

The alert stated that MSUPD would inform the public of any new information as it becomes available. 

The alert also asked for those with any information regarding this occurrence to call the East Lansing Police Department at 517-351-4220.
