Jaren Jackson named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the week

Freshman forward Jaren Jackson Jr. has been named Big Ten C0-Freshman of the week after averaging 9.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in the PK80-Phil Knight Invitational.

Jackson's averages in the tournament mirror his numbers on the season thus far. The 6 foot 11 Indiana product is averaging 10 points with just over eight rebounds per contest, and has totaled 11 blocks through six games.

The Spartans closed out the PK8O invitational with a 63-45 win over North Carolina in the championship round, holding the Tar Heels to just 24.6 field goal shooting; their lowest in school history.
