MSU is in the top 100 of Forbes' list of America's best employers for 2017. MSU ranks 94th out of a list of 500 companies who employ 5,000 or more workers.
In collaboration with Statista, an online statistics and market research database, Forbes created a list of the best American employers. Statista surveyed 30,000 American workers and asked how likely they were to recommend their organization and what other organizations they would recommend.
Following the survey, a list of the top 500 companies to work for was created. Each of the companies listed employ more than 5,000 workers.
The list is separated into 25 industries. MSU falls in the education category and is the 14th spot within that category. The only Big Ten school to outrank MSU in this category is Ohio State University.
Another list of the top 300 midsize companies — companies that employ 1,000 to 5,000 employees — was also created.
