VIDEO: MSU Alumnus surfs the Red Cedar River
MSU alumnus Joe Matulis took advantage of the flooded Red Cedar River to utilize his surfing skills on April 10. Throughout college and beyond, Matulis has surfed the river about 15 times, he said.
"Every time is different," he said.
Matulis noted the conditions from flooding are what make the river surfable.
Since college, he and his twin brother have founded a Michigan Stand Up Paddle company that sells boards and gear to those who share their affinity for riding waves.
