Five-star center and No. 15 in the ESPN Top 100, Brandon McCoy, decided UNLV over MSU for college basketball.
The 6-foot-11 San Diego native from Cathedral Catholic High School announced his commitment late last night.
Alongside MSU, McCoy was fancying Oregon, Arizona and San Diego State, so the choice to attend UNLV came as a slight surprise.
MSU will find out about 6-foot-5 point guard Mark Smith from Edwardsville, Ill. at 7 p.m. this afternoon. He is planning to make his announcement in the Edwardsville High School gym alongside family and students.
According to 247sports, Smith is a four-star recruit who is leaning toward in-state Illinois.
The Spartans have already signed two recruits for next season, five-star center Jaren Jackson Jr. and four-star forward Xavier Tillman.
Currently they are in the hunt for Smith and five-star forward Brian “Tugs” Bowen, who is expected to decide before the end of April.
