The No. 8 MSU men's basketball team (20-5, 7-5 Big Ten) leads the Indiana Hoosiers (20-5, 10-2) at the half from Breslin Center, 41-40.
MSU senior guard Denzel Valentine leads MSU at the break with 15 points, six assists and three rebounds. Senior guard Bryn Forbes has 11 points at the break.
Indiana is led by senior forward Max Bielfeldt, who has 10 points and four rebounds in the first 20 minutes of action.
MSU jumped on top early, using a 9-0 run to take a 11-5 lead. The Hoosiers, however, stormed right back with back-to-back 3-pointers to things back up at 11 with 14:47 to play in the half.
MSU and Indiana went back and forth for the next few minutes until the Hoosiers used a 15-2 run to go on top of the Spartans, 33-23, at the 7:58 mark.
MSU steadily clawed its way back into the game and eventually took a 41-40 lead off a Matt Costello layup with 1:19 left in the first half. MSU would take that lead into the break.
