Events this week to help de-stress before finals

The fall semester is coming to a close and finals will be starting in a little more than a week. 

To help students combat stress and anxiety, there will be a variety of events leading up to finals week. 

The State News compiled a list of where to find freebies, massages and animals to play with this week. 

Dec. 3 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Take a study break and attend a "Treat yo self" event on Dec. 3 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Wonders Hall Kiva.

Rent-a-Pet from the Capital Area Humane Society will be attending the event. A donation of $3 allows students to play with a pet for five minutes. All proceeds go to the Capital Area Humane Society.

In addition to pets, the event will also have a fitness class and massages. A parfait bar will also be available for all students.

The Residence Halls Association, or RHA, will also be hosting several events this week along with other student groups to aid student’s de-stressing throughout the next two weeks.

Dec. 4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in 132 Hubbard Hall students can indulge in freebies from RHS including:

Free food and a hot chocolate bar will be available to students.

Crafts will also be free at the de-stress event with a stress ball activity, caricatures and coloring books.

Massage therapists will also be present to relax students in preparation for exams.

Dec. 5 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in 134 and 136 Brody Hall RHA will continue its free events.

The event will have all of the same planned activities and free stuff available in Hubbard Hall.

There will also be a photo booth available to students and therapy dogs in attendance at the event.

Spin art will be available for students in addition to a Zumba class.

ASMSU will not be hosting any events this semester during finals week.
