Ticket requests for MSU's Cotton Bowl Classic matchup against Alabama are now complete. In total, 1,889 MSU students requested the opportunity to purchase student tickets to the College Football Playoff matchup that will take place in Arlington, Texas, on Dec. 31, according to an email sent by the Spartan Ticket Office. The tickets cost $75 per student, with an additional $15 processing fee.

Since there are only 1,250 tickets available, the 1,285 students who requested tickets and also had season football tickets this year will have priority. In a newly announced promotion, 500 of those 1,285 will be selected to receive their tickets for free, thanks to Taco Bell and ESPN.

The students who will receive free tickets will be randomly selected and notified Wednesday. They will still need to submit a credit card and pay the $75 up front, but once they pick up their ticket, a $75 refund will be applied to their card. The $15 processing fee will not be refunded.

Students who are not selected for this promotion, but who are given priority for ticket purchasing, will have until Friday at 6 p.m. to decide whether to pay an additional $75 for a ticket ($150 face value), or have the original $75 refunded.

Students who purchase or are awarded tickets will pick them up in Arlington. Students must have both their MSU ID and another photo ID on them in order to receive their tickets.
