MSU police reported a home invasion in Meridian Township at The Lodges apartment complex near campus late Wednesday night, according to an MSU alert.

Residents at 2700 Hannah Boulevard, building 1300 discovered a strange man in their apartment. The suspect entered the apartment after one of the residents, a woman, returned alone. Police believe he entered through an unlocked door. He was seen loitering around the building just before the incident.

While the woman was in the shower, the suspect locked the door to the apartment and went into her bedroom, the alert stated, and after her roommate returned the suspect fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 25 years old, 5-foot 10-inches, medium build with brown hair and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with a green emblem on the front.

Police are asking individuals to lock their doors and windows, as police believe he intended to harm the resident.

They are asking anyone with information to contact Sergeant Brad Bach at (517) 853-4800 or bach@meridian.mi.us.
