MSU outfielder Cam Gibson drafted by Detroit Tigers

Junior outfielder Cam Gibson was selected by the Tigers as a fifth-round draft pick, the Detroit Tigers announced on Twitter. 

Gibson batted an average of .310 during his three seasons, with seven homers, 67 RBIs, 123 runs scored and 45 steals, averaging out to .294 during his 2015 season.

Gibson is player number 30 on the MSU baseball team and began playing for MSU in 2013 as a freshman from Grosse Pointe, Mich.

He's the son of former MSU and Tigers player Kirk Gibson, who also was the manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
