Ingham County Sheriff Deputies are investigating a fatal single-car crash which occurred around 6:05 a.m. Monday on eastbound I-96 at the northbound US127 exit., where a vehicle left the road and struck a tree.
Upon arrival to the scene, deputies found a deceased 23-year-old male buckled in the driver's seat with three other passengers with various injuries.
The passengers were then rushed to Sparrow Hospital where a 19-year-old female was pronounced deceased and the two other passengers — a 19-year-old female and a 18-year-old female — remain in critical condition.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains open but drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash, a press release from the Ingham County Sheriff's Office said.
