Movement Electronic Music Festival
Location: Detroit
Date: May 23-25
The Movement is a popular festival for fans of electronic dance music. With ticket prices at $150 for a three-day pass, and $65 for a day pass, you don’t have to break the bank in order to have the experience. The Movement contains an extensive lineup this year, and is sure to provide the perfect setting for fans of electronic music. Popular performers include Snoop Dogg under the name DJ Snoopadelic, Richie Hawtin, Disclosure, and many more.
Electric Forest Music Festival
Location: Rothbury, Michigan
Date: June 25-28
Quite possibly Michigan’s most popular festival, Electric Forest emphasizes the experience of artful expression, through both the music and the sights of the beautifully-decorated environment. Some of the more popular performers at this year’s Electric Forest are The String Cheese Incident, Skrillex, and Flume. Although tickets are sold out on the main website, they can still be bought through third-party sellers like StubHub.
Common Ground Music Festival
Location: Lansing, MI
Date: July 7-12
Common Ground continues its tradition of featuring an eclectic lineup of artists, including big names like Meghan Trainor, The Band Perry and Misterwives. Participants can join in the Color Run during this year’s Common Ground Music Festival. The Color Run will begin at the Capitol and end at the main stage of the venue. Options for purchasing day passes are available.
Mo Pop Festival
Location: Detroit
Date: July 25-26
In only its third year of operation, Mo Pop is quickly establishing itself as a major contender. With a solid lineup that includes Modest Mouse, Passion Pit and Chromeo, fans will get to hear a variety of great acts. With an assortment of “villages” set up for the venue, which includes the Riverside Biergarten, Food truck Alley, Craft Bazaar, and Mo Tech, this festival is meant for people who love good music and good food. Tickets are on sale for a two-day package, charged at $99.50 plus service charges.
