Thousands of MSU basketball fans from all over have flocked to Indianapolis to see their Spartans take part in their seventh Final Four appearance in 17 seasons.

And even if these fans aren't able to get their hands on this weekend's highly coveted tickets, there's still a lot of fun to be had.

On just Friday's list of events, the festivities for MSU fans began at noon with an MSU basketball open practice at Lucas Oil Stadium, continued with an MSU Final Four pep rally at the Indiana Convention Center at 6 p.m., and concluded with a free admission Imagine Dragons concert Friday evening.

All of these activities and more are reasons for 1998 MSU alumna and current Indianapolis resident Angela Smith to come out to see what's going on.

"There's a lot of activities so even if you don't have tickets or can't afford them, you can still have a lot of fun," Smith said. "We just like the atmosphere and being around other MSU fans. We would never get to see or have all of this."

The activities have also provided a great atmosphere for families as well. Jim Brown, for example, who grew up in DeWitt, Michigan watching Magic Johnson and Greg Kelser, came down to Indianapolis with his wife Christine, and their three children -- Jake, Drew and Jenna.

"We wanted to come down with the family," said Jim Brown, who also said on Friday that while they don't have tickets yet, they're still looking. "We got to experience a Final Four with them in Detroit a couple of years ago and that was kind of fun and we wanted to bring the kids down and celebrate again and support the team."

Many students of MSU have also come down -- even those who weren't able to secure the student tickets which sold out in three minutes on Monday.

"It's been awesome," said economics sophomore Eric Fridstein, whose parents bought him a ticket as an early birthday gift. "We've only been here a couple of hours but we went to the pep rally. It was a good experience. It was really fun."

The pep rally also got Fridstein and his group of friends jacked and ready to go for Saturday's game against Duke.

"I'm really excited for the game now," Fridstein said. "We're going to win for sure. We got this."
