The two commencement speakers for the graduation ceremonies on May 8 have been announced, according to MSU Today.
Bob Chapek, the chairperson Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, and Andrew Liveris, CEO of The Dow Chemical Co., will address graduates at the Breslin Student Events Center.
Chapek is an MSU alumnus and will address undergraduates at 1 p.m. He will also receive an honorary doctorate of business.
Two more, Daniel Loepp, president and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and Carlotta LaNier, president of the Little Rock Nine Foundation, will receive honorary doctorates in business and law, respectively.
Liveris will address advanced degree candidates at 3:30 p.m. and will receive an honorary doctorate of engineering.
In a statement to MSU Today, President Lou Anna K. Simon said they were "pleased to welcome Bob Chapek back to campus. He's a successful alumnus whose story will inspire graduates and prepare them for their next journey," adding they were honored Liveris, "the visionary chief executive of one of the world’s largest and most innovative science and technology companies," would speak.
