Theft

Two MSU students had belongings stolen from lockers in two separate cases.

The first incident happened in East Holmes Hall, where a 20-year-old female student, who lives off campus but works in the dining hall, placed her belongings in a locker, unlocked, and went to work Jan. 13. On Jan 14, while shopping, the student noticed $100 to $150 missing from her purse and reported it to police. There are no suspects, and the case is still under investigation.

A second student, also a 20-year-old female employee, placed her belongings in a locker in Landon Hall on Jan. 17. Upon returning she noticed that her black purse was missing and reported it to police. Among the missing items were a Samsung Galaxy S4, valued at $340, keys and ID. There are no suspects, and the case is still under investigation.

License Plate Theft

A 38-year-old non-MSU affiliated construction worker at the IBM parking lot was the victim of a license plate theft between late Jan. 18 to early Jan. 19. After leaving work, the construction worker went to a gas station and noticed his missing plate, which was last seen when he left his home in Saginaw, Michigan. The vehicle is a blue 2006 Crysler Town and Country, and the case is still under investigation.

Marijuana

At a traffic stop Jan. 19 after an automobile ran a red light, MSU police officers smelled marijuana from the car and after a search discovered a small amount of the substance along with marijuana paraphernalia in the vehicle. The driver did not have a medical marijuana card on him. The perpetrator was processed and released, and the case was forwarded to Ingham County, which will be seeking a warrant.
