On Tuesday, MSU junior hockey goaltender Jake Hildebrand was announced the Big Ten First Star of the Week — the fifth time in his collegiate career.
During last weeks match-up against No. 16 Ferris State , Hildebrand turned away 35 of 37 shots and posted a .949 save percentage.
During the last four games, against Boston, UMass and Ferris State, Hildebrand has a 1.28 goals-against average and .949 save percentage. He helped MSU hold opposing teams from gaining more than two goals each game.
MSU’s Matt Berry was recognized for Big Ten First Stars of the Week earlier this season on Oct. 21.
The Spartans take on New Hampshire Friday and Saturday away in Durham, New Hampshire.
