After kicking off the season at the annual Midnight Madness on Friday, the women and men’s basketball teams are preparing to begin another season.
The women's basketball team is coming off a Big Ten championship, which places high expectations on this year's team.
“We have plans to do it again and we are excited for our future,” women’s head basketball coach Suzy Merchant said during Midnight Madness.
The women's basketball team will take on Grand Valley at home on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m.
The men’s basketball team's season will begin with an exhibition game against The Master’s College on Monday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.
According to USA Today Coaches Poll, the men's basketball team is ranked No. 18.
“It’s kind of an incredible year for us — we have a bunch of new guys,” men’s head basketball coach Tom Izzo said at Midnight Madness. “If they play like they worked this summer, then this (season) we are going to have a heck of a team.”
For students who have purchased season tickets for men’s basketball, upper bowl and lower bowl seating has been announced through email.
Izzone T-shirts are available for pick up, for season ticket holders, at the Union at the Association of Future Alumni office in room 333 Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
