The City of East Lansing’s phone system is experiencing technical difficulties causing the phone lines to be down, according to a statement.
All city buildings are affected with the issue, including the East Lansing Police Department, East Lansing Fire Department, East Lansing City Hall, the East Lansing Department of Public Works, the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, the East Lansing Bailey Community Center, the East Lansing Public Library, the 54B District Court and the East Lansing Waste Water Treatment Plant.
The outage is expected to be resolved this afternoon, East Lansing Communications Coordinator Mikell Frey said to Mlive. Frey said the outage was caused by a hardware failure and can be fixed once a part arrives.
Community members can reach East Lansing police and Parking and Code Enforcement at (517) 272-6046 for non-emergency issues. Emergencies should be directed to 911.
