Spartans trail big heading into halftime of Big Ten Tournament championship game

Hoffman Estates, Ill. – The MSU women’s basketball team trails Purdue 33-14 at halftime of the Big Ten Tournament Championship game.

The Boilermakers didn’t miss a shot from the floor or the free throw line for the first ten minutes of the game, led by Drey Mingo who finished the half with 14 points and six rebounds.

Senior forward Courtney Schiffauer was the top performer for the Spartans with four points and three rebounds.

MSU went on two separate scoring droughts that lasted five minutes or more, and finished 7-32 (21.9 percent) from the floor.

The Spartans also got into some early foul trouble as sophomore forwards Becca Mills and Jasmine Hines each finished the half with three fouls.
