The MSU wrestling team came out of their most difficult weekend of the year with a pair of losses to No. 13 Nebraska and No. 4 Minnesota.
The Spartans kept it close with Nebraska on Friday night after a pin by senior 149-pounder Dan Osterman gave MSU a 19-14 lead with two matches to go .
But Nebraska won the final two, including a pin in the final match of the night to squeak out the 23-19 victory .
Junior No. 7 heavyweight Michael McClure continued his phenomenal season with a 5-2 win over Spencer Johnson of Nebraska .
Things didn’t go as planned against Minnesota as MSU fell 32-6 on Sunday afternoon .
The Spartans only two wins came from sophomore 133-pounder Brandon Fifield and sophomore 157-pounder Ryan Watts .
McClure lost his first match in the last four when No. 2 Tony Nelson beat him 4-0 .
Sophomore 184-pounder John Rizqallah was also handed his third-consecutive loss against the Golden Gophers .
The Spartans face off against Michigan at 2 p.m. this Sunday at Jenison Field House .
