The MSU women’s basketball team (4-0) took care of business once again as they downed Albany 67-35 on Wednesday night.
Four Spartans were in double figures, but junior guard Klarissa Bell led the way for them by scoring 19 points and dishing out five assists. Sophomore center Jasmine Hines also had a strong game with a season-high 14 points.
MSU dominated the play in the paint by out rebounding the Great Danes 44-32. Sophomore forward Becca Mills had eight rebounds, and junior forward Annalise Pickrel recorded seven.
The team had a good shooting night from beyond the arc after hitting 44.4 percent (8-18) from behind the 3-point line. Pickrel had three, and Bell and senior forward Courtney Schiffauer each hit a pair.
The Spartan defense held tough in the second half, holding the Great Danes to just nine points.
The next the Spartans will be in action is at 4:00 p.m. Sunday against Robert Morris at Breslin Center.
