Snyder is scheduled to address graduates from seven MSU colleges, including the Eli Broad College of Business and the College of Arts and Letters.
Snyder will be given an honorary doctorate of laws at the ceremony, according to the release.
Joining Snyder will be Johnnetta Cole, director of the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington, D.C. She will be awarded an honorary doctorate of humane letters.
Christopher Somerville, director of Energy Biosciences Institute, which was the world’s first facility devoted to energy bioscience, will earn an honorary doctorate of science, according to the release.
On Dec. 14, Thomas Vilsack, secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will speak and receive an honorary doctorate of laws.
“We’re honored to have such a distinguished group of speakers and honorees at commencement,” MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon said in the release. “As leaders in business, public policy, culture and science, they represent some of the most important areas of Michigan State’s own scholarship and service.”
