In the next year, the Grand Rapids-based HopCat brewery might be calling East Lansing home as well, according to The Grand Rapids Press.
The bar, expected to feature 100 beers on tap, would move in to the first floor of The Residences — an 8-story mixed-use development currently being constructed at the Ann Street plaza, according to the Press.
HopCat owner Mark Sellers has won numerous awards for his brews by noted beer sources, such as Beer Advocate magazine, and is credited as a leader in the Michigan craft brewing industry.
Sellers also plans to cater to craft beer fans in downtown Lansing by opening another establishment in the Stadium District, located across the street from Cooley Law School Stadium, according to the Press.
“Lansing and East Lansing have thousands of residents who are passionate about good beer and good food, but the markets seem under-served,” Sellers told the Press.
