I am very encouraged to learn that the proposal to strengthen Michigan’s renewable energy standard to 25 percent by 2025 has the support of Democrats, Republicans and independents. Manufacturers and labor support it. Farmers and agriculture support it. As a student, I support it too.
Strengthening Michigan’s renewable energy standard is not about politics, it is about economic opportunity and competing in a critical growth sector. Michigan’s midwest neighbors all have stronger renewable energy standard, or RES, measures, and they’re luring jobs and investments.
