The MSU hockey team picked up a critical series sweep against No. 10 Ohio State.
The Spartans (15-11-4 overall, 10-9-3-2 CCHA) rallied from a two-goal deficit to win 6-3 on Friday and closed out the series with a 3-2 victory on Saturday.

The Spartans (15-11-4 overall, 10-9-3-2 CCHA) rallied from a two-goal deficit to win 6-3 on Friday and closed out the series with a 3-2 victory on Saturday.
Friday, the Spartans fell behind 2-0 in the first, but MSU got on the board with a goal by junior forward Dean Chelios.
In the second, the Spartans turned a 2-1 deficit into a 4-3 lead by the end of the period and carried the momentum into the final frame. Juniors defenseman Torey Krug and forward Anthony Hayes combined for six points to carry the Spartans to the victory. Sophomore goalie Will Yanakeff had 41 saves.
In Saturday’s game, Krug led the way once again with a goal and an assist to complement Yanakeff’s 33-save performance to pick up the victory for the Spartans.
Sophomore defenseman Jake Chelios and freshman forward Matt Berry also picked up tallies in the game.
