The MSU wrestling team gave two dominating performances on Saturday, knocking off Lock Haven 30-6 before crushing Bucknell 27-6 in two road matches in Pennsylvania.
The Spartans (2-1) notched their first victories of the season behind the performances of freshman Nick Proctor and senior Anthony Jones Jr., who both went 2-0 in the weekend’s matches.
Senior Curran Jacobs also came up big with a 7-3 decision match against Bucknell’s Stephen McPeek while No. 18 junior Dan Osterman split his weekend, falling to Lock Haven’s Owen Wilkinson 0-3 but rebounding to best Bucknell’s Derrik Russell in a 4-0 decision.
The Spartans will open Big Ten play at 7 p.m. Friday when they travel to West Layfette, Ind., to take on Purdue.
