MSU senior named as U.K. scholar

December 1, 2011

Interdisciplinary humanities senior Rebecca Farnum recently was named a 2012 Marshall Scholar — one of only two students from Michigan to earn the honor, according to a release.

Under the program, Farnum will travel to the United Kingdom next year to explore her passion for environmental justice.

Marshall Scholars conduct postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom to strengthen ties between British and American societies.

Farnum, a member of James Madison College and the Honors College, also has served as an intern for First Lady Michelle Obama.
