Antonio Demetrius Triplett, the 25-year-old Lansing man arrested last night following a weapons complaint, was arraigned in East Lansing’s 54-B District Court on two counts of assault and battery and a third count of possession of a controlled substance Thursday, East Lansing police Capt. Bill Mitchell said.

Triplett’s girlfriend told a cashier at CVS Pharmacy, 240 M.A.C. Ave., to call the East Lansing Police Department at about 9:35 p.m. Wednesday, reporting that Triplett threatened her and another individual with them, with what appeared to be a gun, Mitchell said.

The incident stemmed from an argument between Triplett and his girlfriend. Neither victim was injured.

Police arrested Triplett later that evening and held him overnight so he could be arraigned this morning. The man was wielding a BB gun, Mitchell said.

Triplett was given a personal recognizance bond of $1,000, but as a condition of the bond he would have to reveal his home address to police, which he refused to do.

Mitchell said if Triplett does not disclose this information he will be bound over to the Ingham County Jail.
