iPhone allegedly stolen at basketball court

A 32-year-old male from Holt, Mich., reported his cell phone stolen from IM Sports-West Aug. 6 between 2-3:30 p.m., MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The man was playing basketball and left his black iPhone 4 sitting on a bench next to the court, McGlothian-Taylor said.

When the man returned to the bench, the $799 phone was gone.

The man saw a black male sitting next to the phone before it went missing.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall, 25-year-old man with a medium build and brown eyes.

He last was seen wearing black shorts, a black sleeveless shirt and a black hat.

The incident is under investigation.
