Woman arrested for being super drunk

July 10, 2011

A 25-year-old woman from Holt, Mich., fled from MSU police Sunday morning at about 2 a.m. during a car chase through campus, MSU police Sgt. Paul Kuchek said.

The woman was driving 15 mph more than the speed limit and used her right turn signal before turning left on Harrison Avenue from Michigan Avenue, Kuchek said.

An officer turned on his lights, but the woman did not pull over. The officer followed her south on Harrison Avenue until she came to a stop on Crescent Road.

Two passengers in the vehicle tried to convince her she should stop and pull over. One of the passengers took the keys out of the ignition when the driver slowed down.

She was arraigned Sunday for drunken driving. She had a blood-alcohol level of .17 or higher and faces charges under the super drunk law.
