Employee reports bag, lock stolen

June 15, 2011

A 25-year-old male employee reported his cable lock and bag stolen from a bike rack near the Union between 9 p.m. June 8 and 12:30 a.m. June 9, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The victim locked his bag, containing nothing of value, with a cable lock to his bicycle, McGlothian-Taylor said.

The bicycle was locked with a U-lock to a bicycle rack between the Union and the Human Ecology Building.

When the victim returned to his bicycle, the cable lock and bag were missing.

Upon searching the area further, the cable lock and bag were found in some bushes near Grand River Avenue, northwest of the bicycle.

The cable lock, valued at $20, was cut and unusable.

There are no suspects, and the incident is under investigation.
