June 12, 2011

A 20-year-old male cyclist struck an East Lansing police vehicle at about 8:30 p.m. June 5, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The police officer was stopped in the alley running parallel to Grand River Avenue at the intersection of M.A.C. Avenue, preparing to turn onto M.A.C. Avenue, McGlothian-Taylor said.

The cyclist was traveling northbound on the sidewalk of M.A.C. Avenue and did not stop quickly enough, causing him to hit the vehicle on the passenger’s side door.

The cyclist was found at fault.

No damage was done, and there was no complaint of injury.
