Jewelry vendor allegedly robbed

May 25, 2011

A 31-year-old female jewelry vendor from Ypsilanti, Mich., allegedly was robbed at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the MSU Arts and Crafts Show, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The vendor was assisting a woman and her daughter when three to four other women entered the booth to try on rings, McGlothian-Taylor said.

When the women left the booth, a size six stainless steel ring with blue, pink, teal, white and yellow cubic zirconia was gone.

The ring was valued at $89.99.

One of the suspects was described as a 5-foot-4-inch tall white female, about 50 years old. The suspect was wearing a red shirt.

The incident is under investigation.
