A 28-year-old man from Redford, Mich., allegedly was assaulted between 9:55-10 a.m. March 24 near the intersection of Farm Lane and Auditorium Road, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The man had a table along the sidewalk and was handing out literature, McGlothian-Taylor said. The man said a college-age man rode up to his table on a bike. They began to talk about the earthquake in Japan and the assailant became upset.
The man pushed the victim in the chest several times before he got back on his bike and rode northeast on Farm Lane toward the Collingwood Drive entrance. The subject was described as a white male, 5 feet 5 inches tall with an average build, brown hair and a “scruffy” beard.
