Bomb threat reported at E.L. restaurant

March 14, 2011

East Lansing Police officers responded to a bomb threat at McDonald’s, 1024 E. Grand River Ave., on Monday afternoon, East Lansing police Capt. Tom Johnstone said.

The East Lansing Police Department responded with officers and an explosive-smelling dog after the threat was called into the restaurant, Johnstone said.

The responding officers worked with the management to search for any potential explosives and were able to determine there was no immediate risk by 2:30 p.m.

Once the coast was deemed clear the restaurant was able to re-open for service.
