A 22-year-old male student allegedly was assaulted by an unidentified man in West Holden Hall on Feb. 2, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
Witnesses said the two men were fighting in the lobby and described the suspect as 5-foot-8, medium-build, black male, wearing a gray or blue shirt and jeans, McGlothian-Taylor said.
The suspect did not appear to have any injuries, but the victim was taken to Sparrow Hospital by the East Lansing Fire Department.
Both the responding police officers and firefighters said the victim was uncooperative.
The incident is under investigation.
