MSU Museum hosts darwin event

February 8, 2011

The MSU Museum will honor the birthday of renowned naturalist Charles Darwin with Darwin Discovery Day from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

The event will feature various activities for people of all ages. The MSU Herp Club is scheduled to bring live reptiles and amphibians to interact with event goers.

There also will be tours of the museum’s natural science research collections, in addition to hands-on activities for kids with the 4-H Children’s Garden.

The MSU Museum also will have a new exhibit called “The Diversity and Intricate Beauty of Invertebrates.”

Additionally, visitors can look forward to the Darwin Discovery Day tradition of the MSU Museum officials inviting visitors to bring a rock, bone, fossil, tooth or other natural object and museum curators will attempt to identify them.

Darwin Discovery Day offers free admission to all visitors. For more information, contact the museum at (517) 355-2370.
