National aids day to be promoted by MSU

November 23, 2010

The MSU community is helping promote World AIDS Day on Dec. 1.

To bring awareness to the issue, 250 red ribbons will be tied around trees in honor of the estimated 1 million Americans fighting against HIV/AIDS.

At 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 1, there will be a vigil at the rock on Farm Lane, honoring those who lost their lives to AIDS, followed by a performance in Butterfield Hall at 7:30 p.m.

The MSU American Medical Student Association is sponsoring an AIDS talk from noon to 12:50 p.m. in E105 Fee Hall. The talk will feature local doctors and AIDS patients speaking about the biological and psychological impacts of those infected with HIV/AIDS.
