Women's soccer falls at Penn State

The MSU women’s soccer team lost its Big Ten opener Sunday, falling 1-0 to conference favorite Penn State (3-6-1).

Penn State’s Christine Nairn broke through the MSU defenders and scored the game’s only goal in the 20th minute. MSU goalkeeper Jill Flietstra made six saves on the day.

The Spartans (5-3-1) had three shots in the final two minutes of the game, all three being saved by Penn State.
