U2 still slated to perform at MSU despite Bono back injury

May 21, 2010

U2 still is scheduled to perform its U2 360° tour June 30 at Spartan Stadium following reports of front man Bono’s emergency back surgery earlier this morning, said Cheryl Swanson, executive director of Breslin Center.

Swanson said she has been in contact with representatives at Live Nation — the tour’s ticket distributor — and has yet to receive word that the concert date has been postponed or cancelled.

“As soon as any decision is made, we’ll get that information out to ticket buyers,” she said.

According to U2’s website, the band’s June 3 concert at Salt Lake City has been postponed.
