A 56-year-old MSU employee reported a trash can fire outside Anthony Hall on Wednesday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
Shortly before 6 p.m., the man noticed smoke coming from a brown trash can valued at about $10 located on the east side of the building. The fire potentially could have been caused by a discarded cigarette, McGlothian-Taylor said.
There are no suspects and the case has been closed by the East Lansing Fire Department as it appears to have been an accident, McGlothian-Taylor said.
