The Wraggs family is hoping small adjustments add up to big savings.
The first weekend after picking up his kids from St. Louis to spend the summer in Michigan, Keith Wraggs took them thrift shopping to stock up on summer clothing. He says his family is trying to save money in little ways.
“We make sure we eat everything off the plate, and what we don’t eat we save for tomorrow,” he said.
Wraggs also stressed during tough times his family counts on each other.
“We show a lot of love to one another. It makes it easier.”
Diane Galvez, the production manager at the Volunteers of America Michigan Thrift Store, 5411 S. Cedar St., in Lansing, said as the economy falters, she’s seeing an upswing in business.
“People need to be able to go somewhere and get clothing for their kids. I think (this store) is exactly what they need,” she said.
