A 35-year-old female university employee reported an $800 sewing machine stolen from a laboratory room at the Auditorium, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The employee reported the machine, a Bernina 1008, stolen April 16 and told police she last saw it in December. The room had been used during spring break and many faculty members and graduate students have keys to the room, which is supposed to be locked when it is not in use, McGlothian-Taylor said.
Police contacted the supervisor of the group that used the room over spring break, who was unsure if the machine was in the room at the time. Police have no suspects and the incident is under investigation.
