Student’s purse, debit card stolen in Morrill Hall

A 28-year-old female student reported her $31 purse stolen and a $235.51 purchase made on her stolen Visa debit card on Tuesday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The student left the purse on a table in her Morrill Hall office. When she returned from a meeting in the graduate lounge, the purse was gone, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student encountered an unknown male sitting in her office earlier Tuesday. She told police she believed the male is responsible for the theft.

The suspect is described as a black male with a scruffy beard, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 and 200 to 220 pounds, wearing gray sweatpants, a black hooded sweatshirt and carrying a black drawstring backpack.
