Backpack stolen from student during tryout
A 20-year-old female student reported her backpack stolen during a cheerleading tryout at Jenison Field House, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
A 20-year-old female student reported her backpack stolen during a cheerleading tryout at Jenison Field House, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The student left the bag with a supervisor who was supposed to be watching the area between 7:45 and 8:10 p.m. Thursday inside the third floor gymnastics area.
The student reported the bag contained a $100 purple Alltel Scoop cell phone, a $5 black wallet with a gray pattern, a $200 red iPod, a lab notebook valued at $36, two debit cards, $25 in cash, a pair of $29 jeans and a pair of sandals, McGlothian-Taylor said.
An unauthorized purchase was made using one of the debit cards at an Admiral Speedway gas station.
The incident is under investigation.
