Old Town seeks Scrapfest artists

April 20, 2009

The Old Town Scrapfest this summer might be the perfect opportunity for hungry artists to express their creativity.

The Old Town Commercial Association seeks applicants for the Scrapfest, a recycled art competition to be held June 20-27 in Lansing.

For one week, competitors will transform scrap materials into art. Each artist or team on June 20 will be given an hour to compile scraps from Friedland Industries in Lansing’s Old Town. They will have one week to create a piece of art from the scraps.

The winning team will receive a monetary prize. All of the artwork will be presented and auctioned off at the Festivals of the Sun & Moon on June 26 and 27 in Lansing.
