A 71-year-old professor reported a laptop and accessories stolen from his Berkey Hall office while he was away on spring break, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The professor left his office at about 7 p.m. March 5 and locked the door to his office, but did not lock the dead bolt. When he returned at 9:30 a.m. Monday, the professor discovered his Apple laptop computer, its carrying case and a wireless keyboard were missing. The laptop was valued at $2,000, the keyboard was valued at $79 and the carrying case was valued at $30, McGlothian-Taylor said.
The professor originally did not report the crime because he wanted to check if he had left the items at home, McGlothian-Taylor said.
Police have no suspects and the incident is still under investigation.
